Terms & Conditions

By making a reservation at Yamato Hostel, you agree to be bound by these terms and any applicable policies.


I. Reservations & Payments

a. All remaining balances must be settled upon check-in.

b. Reservations are for you and your registered guests only. Booking more than four (4) rooms requires direct contact with the hostel.

c. Reselling or advertising reservations is strictly prohibited. Proper identification is required at check-in.

d. Yamato Hostel may cancel or modify reservations that breach these terms or appear fraudulent.

e. For direct bookings made via our website, email, phone call or through our social media accounts, a prepayment equivalent to one (1) night of the room rate is required to confirm the reservation. This amount will be deducted from the total bill upon check-in. Unpaid bookings are not considered confirmed and may be released without prior notice.


II. Cancellation Policy

  1. Cancellations vary depending on room rates and availability.
  2. Standard policy: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before 2:00 PM on the scheduled arrival date, or no-shows, will incur a one-night cancellation charge.
  3. For direct bookings (clause I.e Reservations & Payments), please note that any prepayment made is non-refundable and will be applied as your cancellation fee.


III. Check-In/Check-Out

  1. Check-in time is 2:00 PM. Check-out time is 12:00 NN.
  2. Free Early Check-In (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM): Guests may check in between 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM free of charge, subject to room availability.  Otherwise, guests will be asked to wait until the standard check-in time.
  3. Early check-in or late check-out exceeding four (4) hours will incur a charge equivalent to half of the current room rate at the time of booking.
  4. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and will incur the following charges:


Late check-out 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Dorm Room – Php 150.00 per hour

Deluxe Room – Php 600.00 per hour

Twin Suite Room – Php 1,200.00 per hour

Family Room – Php 1,330.00 per hour

8-Bed Suite – Php 1,605.00 per hour


Early check-in 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM

Dorm Room – Php 270.00

Deluxe Room – Php 910.00

Twin Suite Room – Php 1,800.00

Family Room – Php 2,000.00

8-Bed Suite – Php 2,410.00


IV. Identification Records

  1. All guests and visitors must surrender passports or valid IDs for photocopying/recording upon check-in or arrival. This is done for identity verification, security, and regulatory compliance. Information is handled with strict confidentiality and protected from unauthorized access. Records are retained only for the legally required period and securely disposed of afterward.
  2. Refusal to provide identification may result in denied entry or accommodation.


V. Valuables

Guests are encouraged to use in-room lockers or deposit boxes for valuables. Yamato Hostel is not liable for lost or stolen items caused by guest negligence.


VI. Shared Items in Common Areas

  1. All shared items, including dinnerware, mugs, books, board games, card games, French press coffee makers, and glasses, shampoo and soap bottles, hair dryers, etc. must remain in the common areas.
  2. Taking shared items to private rooms will result in a fee or restricted access to common areas.


VII. Alcohol Policy

  1. Personal Consumption: Guests may bring their own alcohol for personal consumption. However, excessive drinking and disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
  2. Common Areas: Alcohol consumption is permitted only in designated common areas. Drinking is not allowed in dorm rooms or hallways.
  3. Private Rooms: Guests staying in private rooms may consume alcohol responsibly within their room. However, any disruptive noise or behavior that affects other guests will be subject to staff intervention.
  4. Noise and Behavior: Respect other guests. Drunken behavior that disrupts the comfort or safety of others may result in immediate eviction without refund.
  5. Age Restriction: Alcohol consumption is strictly for guests aged 18 and above.
  6. Staff Authority: Hostel staff reserves the right to confiscate alcohol or ask guests to stop drinking at any time if deemed necessary.
  7. Prohibited Items: The use of hard liquor, excessive alcohol, or any items that promote binge drinking (e.g., beer pong) is strictly prohibited.VII.


VIII. Prohibited / Illegal Activities and Items

Yamato Hostel is committed to maintaining a clean, safe, respectful, and secure environment for all guests, staff, visitors, and members of the public. Guests are required to respect the safety, privacy, dignity, personal boundaries, and lawful rights of others at all times.


Any conduct that threatens the safety, security, privacy, dignity, or peaceful enjoyment of another guest may result in immediate management intervention, removal from the property, termination of the reservation without refund, reporting to law enforcement, and/or other legal action where applicable.

1. Smoking and Vaping: 

Smoking, including the use of cigarettes, cigars, electronic cigarettes, and vapes, is prohibited in all guest areas except designated smoking areas, where applicable.

2. Drugs, Weapons and Dangerous or Prohibited Items: 

Prohibited items, including illegal drugs, combustible materials, explosives, deadly weapons, or other items prohibited by Philippine law, are not allowed anywhere on the premises.

3. Threats, Harassment and Criminal Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited:

a. Assault or attempted assault;

b. Threats of violence or intimidation;

c. Physical violence or fighting;

d. Sexual harassment;

e. Stalking;

f. Harassment, intimidation, or threatening behavior toward another guest, visitor, or staff member;

g. Theft or vandalism of hostel property or another person's belongings;

h. Fraudulent activities or the use of counterfeit currency;

i. Human trafficking, exploitation, or any related activity;

j. Unauthorized or unlawful use of hostel Wi-Fi or internet services, including hacking, piracy, or accessing illegal content; and

k. Any other conduct that constitutes or may constitute a violation of Philippine law or applicable local ordinances.


Any involvement in illegal activities may result in immediate eviction without refund. Where appropriate, the authorities will be notified and Yamato Hostel will cooperate with any investigation or legal proceeding.


Sexual Activity and Sexually Explicit Conduct

Yamato Hostel maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward sexual conduct that is visible to, directed toward, or reasonably likely to be witnessed by another guest, visitor, staff member, or minor.


The following conduct is strictly prohibited anywhere on hostel premises where another person may reasonably be exposed to it, including but not limited to dormitory rooms, shared bedrooms, bunk areas, bathrooms, hallways, stairways, lounges, common areas, and other shared or publicly accessible spaces:


4. Sexual activity, nudity, indecent exposure, masturbation, or any sexually explicit conduct in shared rooms or common areas.

This prohibition applies regardless of whether the conduct occurs behind a bed curtain, bunk curtain, partition, blanket, or other temporary covering if the conduct is visible or reasonably observable by another person.


Guests staying in shared accommodations must understand that a dormitory is a communal environment and does not provide a private setting for sexual activity.


5. Sexual Harassment and Unwanted Sexual Conduct

Any unwanted or uninvited sexual conduct toward another person is strictly prohibited.


This includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Unwanted sexual comments, propositions, or gestures;
  2. Unwanted touching or physical contact of a sexual nature;
  3. Exposing one's private parts to another person;
  4. Flashing;
  5. Public or semi-public masturbation;
  6. Sexual acts performed where another guest can reasonably see or be exposed to them;
  7. Lewd or sexually explicit gestures directed toward another person;
  8. Sexual intimidation or conduct that threatens another person's sense of personal safety or personal space;
  9. Recording another person in a sexual or intimate situation without consent;
  10. Sharing or distributing sexual images or recordings without consent; and
  11. Any other conduct that may constitute gender-based sexual harassment or another offense under Philippine law.


6. Safe Spaces Act — Republic Act No. 11313

Yamato Hostel recognizes and complies with Republic Act No. 11313, otherwise known as the Safe Spaces Act or “Bawal Bastos Law.”


The Safe Spaces Act defines gender-based streets and public spaces sexual harassment to include unwanted and uninvited sexual actions or remarks. The law specifically identifies conduct including public masturbation, flashing of private parts, groping, and similar lewd sexual actions among prohibited acts.


The law also expressly applies to hotels and other privately owned places open to the public. Under Section 5, such establishments are required to adopt a zero-tolerance policy against gender-based sexual harassment and are obliged to assist victims, including by coordinating with local police authorities immediately after gender-based sexual harassment is reported. The law also requires covered establishments to provide a safe and gender-sensitive environment and to designate an anti-sexual-harassment officer to receive complaints.


Accordingly, conduct occurring at Yamato Hostel may be subject to:

  • Yamato Hostel's internal rules and immediate removal procedures;
  • applicable local ordinances;
  • the Safe Spaces Act;
  • other applicable Philippine criminal or civil laws; and
  • investigation and prosecution by the appropriate government authorities.


Yamato Hostel does not determine whether a particular incident constitutes a criminal offense. That determination belongs to law enforcement authorities, prosecutors, and the courts.


7. Penalties Under the Safe Spaces Act

Under Section 11(b) of Republic Act No. 11313, acts including exposing private parts for sexual gratification with the effect of demeaning, harassing, threatening, or intimidating the offended party, as well as flashing of private parts, public masturbation, groping, and similar lewd sexual actions, are punishable offenses.


For covered Section 11(b) acts, the law provides:


First offense: Fine of Php 10,000.00 and community service of 12 hours, including attendance at a Gender Sensitivity Seminar.

Second offense: Arresto menor of 11–30 days or a Php 15,000.00 fine.

Third offense: Arresto mayor of 1 month and 1 day to 6 months and a Php 20,000.00 fine.


Local government ordinances may impose heavier penalties where applicable.


These statutory penalties are separate from Yamato Hostel's internal remedies, including removal from the property, termination of accommodation, loss of refund, and prohibition from future stays.


8. Incidents Involving a Minor

Yamato Hostel gives heightened priority to the safety and protection of minors.


If a minor is present, exposed to, or witnesses sexual activity, masturbation, indecent exposure, flashing, or other sexually explicit or lewd conduct, management may immediately:


  1. Separate the minor and accompanying persons from the alleged offender;
  2. Move the affected guest to a safe and private area;
  3. Remove the alleged offender from the shared room;
  4. Terminate the alleged offender's accommodation;
  5. Preserve relevant CCTV footage and other evidence;
  6. Contact or coordinate with the appropriate police authorities;
  7. Coordinate with the PNP Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) or other appropriate government authorities where warranted;
  8. Provide reasonable assistance to the affected guest in making a report; and
  9. Cooperate with any investigation conducted by law enforcement or child-protection authorities.
  10. The Safe Spaces Act provides that when the offended party is a minor, the penalty next higher in degree applies to qualified gender-based streets, public spaces, and online sexual harassment.
  11. In addition, depending on the circumstances, conduct involving a minor may potentially fall under other child-protection laws, including Republic Act No. 7610, the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, as amended. RA 7610 protects children from abuse, cruelty, exploitation, sexual abuse, and conditions prejudicial to their development.
  12. The applicability of any particular criminal provision depends on the specific facts, evidence, ages involved, intent, and circumstances of the incident. Yamato Hostel will not make its own criminal-law determination.


9. Right to Report to Police

Any guest who witnesses or experiences sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, indecent exposure, or other potentially unlawful conduct has the right to report the incident directly to law enforcement.


If a guest requests police assistance, Yamato Hostel will not discourage, pressure, threaten, or retaliate against the guest for making a good-faith report.


Management will cooperate with the appropriate authorities and provide information or evidence when lawfully requested.

The PNP Women and Children's Desks are specifically authorized under the Safe Spaces Act to act on complaints covered by the law.


10. Immediate Management Response to Sexual or Safety Incidents

When management receives a complaint involving sexual conduct, harassment, violence, or conduct potentially involving a minor, staff shall prioritize safety and may take the following actions:

  1. Immediately separate the parties;
  2. Ensure that the complainant and any minor are in a safe location;
  3. Prevent unnecessary contact between the complainant and alleged offender;
  4. Move guests to another room where reasonably available;
  5. Remove the alleged offender from the shared dormitory;
  6. Terminate the alleged offender's stay where warranted;
  7. Contact police or other appropriate authorities when requested or required;
  8. Preserve relevant CCTV footage;
  9. Preserve booking, registration, and access records;
  10. Prepare an internal incident report;
  11. Record statements provided voluntarily by witnesses;
  12. Cooperate with law enforcement investigations; and
  13. Take reasonable measures to prevent retaliation or further harassment.


11. Evidence and CCTV

Yamato Hostel may preserve relevant CCTV footage, booking information, guest registration records, keycard/access records, staff reports, and other information reasonably necessary to respond to an incident.


CCTV footage may be made available to law enforcement or other authorized authorities in accordance with applicable law and lawful procedures.


Staff members are strictly prohibited from sharing incident footage, photographs, recordings, or confidential guest information through personal social-media accounts, unauthorized group chats, or other unauthorized channels.


12. No Physical Confrontation or Vigilante Action

Guests and staff must not physically assault, threaten, punish, or otherwise take the law into their own hands against an alleged offender.


Staff should prioritize safety, separate the parties, document the complaint objectively, preserve available evidence, and allow law enforcement to conduct the appropriate investigation.


Nothing in this policy authorizes staff to make a criminal determination or impose a criminal penalty.


13. Immediate Eviction and Termination of Stay

A guest who violates this section may be immediately removed from the hostel and may forfeit any remaining accommodation fees or refund, subject to applicable law.


Yamato Hostel may also:

  • terminate the guest's reservation;
  • prohibit the guest from remaining in a dormitory;
  • require the guest to vacate the premises;
  • refuse future accommodation; and
  • report the incident to appropriate authorities.


Immediate removal is an internal hostel safety and accommodation decision and does not constitute a determination that the guest has committed a criminal offense.


14. Legal Action and Cooperation with Authorities

Yamato Hostel reserves the right to report suspected criminal or unlawful conduct to law enforcement and to cooperate fully with any resulting investigation.


Where legally permitted or required, Yamato Hostel may provide authorities with:

  • guest registration information;
  • passport or identification records;
  • booking information;
  • CCTV footage;
  • keycard/access records;
  • relevant staff reports;
  • witness information; and
  • other evidence lawfully requested by competent authorities.


Nothing in these Terms & Conditions prevents an affected guest from independently filing a police report, criminal complaint, civil claim, or other legal action.


15. Confidentiality and Protection of Complainants

Yamato Hostel will handle complaints and incident information responsibly and will make reasonable efforts to protect the privacy and confidentiality of affected guests.


Particular care will be taken where a minor is involved. Staff must not photograph, record, publish, or circulate images or identifying information concerning a minor involved in an incident.


Staff should not unnecessarily question, pressure, or repeatedly require a minor to recount or reenact an incident. Any formal investigation or detailed questioning should be handled by the appropriate authorities and trained personnel.


16. Other Illegal Activities

Illegal activities are strictly prohibited on the premises, including but not limited to:

  1. Theft or vandalism of hostel property or the belongings of other guests;
  2. Assault, harassment, or any form of violence;
  3. Drug possession, distribution, or use of illegal substances;
  4. Fraudulent activities or the use of counterfeit currency;
  5. Human trafficking or exploitation;
  6. Sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, or other unlawful sexual conduct;
  7. Unauthorized or unlawful use of hostel Wi-Fi or internet services;
  8. Hacking, cybercrime, or accessing illegal content; and
  9. Any other conduct prohibited by Philippine law or applicable local ordinances.


Any involvement in illegal activities will result in immediate eviction from the hostel, with no refund, and may be reported to the authorities. Yamato Hostel reserves the right to take legal action where applicable. The guest will be held accountable for any damages, losses, cleaning expenses, or other costs caused by their actions, subject to applicable law


17. Guest Acknowledgment

By booking, checking in, or staying at Yamato Hostel, the guest acknowledges that the hostel is a shared hospitality environment and agrees to respect the safety, privacy, dignity, personal boundaries, and lawful rights of all guests, staff, visitors, and members of the public.


Sexual activity, nudity, indecent exposure, masturbation, or any sexually explicit conduct in shared rooms or common areas is strictly prohibited.


The guest further acknowledges that violations of this policy may result in immediate eviction without refund, termination of accommodation, reporting to law enforcement, preservation of evidence, and other legal or administrative action where applicable.


This policy is intended to supplement and not replace applicable Philippine laws, regulations, local ordinances, and law-enforcement procedures.


Yamato Hostel reserves the right to amend these rules as necessary to maintain the safety, security, and welfare of its guests and staff.


IX. Food and Beverages

Guests are discouraged from bringing cooked food, beverages, liquor, or items with strong odors (e.g., durian, dried seafood) into their rooms.


X. Parties and Gatherings

Parties or gatherings in guest rooms require prior management approval.


XI. Quiet Hours

Quiet hours are observed from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Guests are asked to refrain from causing disturbances during this time.


XII. Visitors

All visitors must be registered at the front desk upon entry. Visitors are permitted in common areas from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Entry into dormitories or private rooms is not allowed. 


Exceptions: Visitors are allowed in Family Suites  and Twin Suites under the following conditions:

  1. Visitors are allowed to stay in the suite until 10:00 PM unless registered for an overnight stay.
  2. Overnight visitors will incur an extra person charge as specified by Yamato Hostel's pricing policy.


XIII. Towels and Linens

a. Removable Stains (Typically No Charge if Removed): 

Coffee/Tea, Wine, Makeup, Dirt/Mud or Food (non-greasy)


b. Stains Requiring Special Sanitation (Subject to Cleaning Fee):

These may be washable but require intensive treatment and are considered a hygiene concern.


Includes: Urine, feces, vomit, blood, or other bodily fluids

A sanitation fee may apply even if the item is not permanently damaged.


c. Stains Requiring Replacement (Subject to Replacement Fee)

These stains are typically impossible to remove without damaging the fabric:

Bleach, Hair dye or any type of dye, ink (permanent markers), nail polish, grease/oil stains or burns/wax. 


Replacement charges may apply based on the actual cost of replacing the affected item.


Charges are per article of linen/towel:

Hand towels – CLEANING FEE Php 300.00 • REPLACEMENT FEE Php 500.00

Bath mats – CLEANING FEE Php 600 • REPLACEMENT FEE Php 1,000.00 

Towels – CLEANING FEE Php 1,200.00 • REPLACEMENT FEE Php 2,000.00 

Pillowcases – CLEANING FEE Php 480.00 • REPLACEMENT FEE Php 800.00  

Duvet cover / Fitted sheet – CLEANING FEE Php 1,700.00 • REPLACEMENT FEE Php 2,500.00  

Mattress Protector / Duvet – CLEANING FEE Php 4,200.00 • REPLACEMENT FEE Php 7,000.00


Extra Towel & Blanket Requests:

For dorm guests, only one (1) extra towel or thick blanket is available for rental at Php 150.00 each.

Private room guests may exchange towels free of charge.



XIV. Additional Services and Fees

Transportation Services

Transport Network Vehicle Service (e.g., Grab, Angkas) booked and paid by the hostel will be charged to the guest.


Food Delivery Services

Food orders placed and paid by the hostel (e.g., Grab, Food Panda) will be charged to the guest, except for breakfast served by the hostel.


Printing Services

Printing of documents requested by guests will incur an additional charge


Extra Person Fee

Additional guests beyond room capacity: Php 850.00


Extra Slippers

Guests may request a pair of slippers for Php 15.00 each pair


Pressing Service

Guests will be charged per article of clothing with the following rates:

Sweater / Jacket /                 Php 100.00

Overcoat / Coat                 Php 200.00

Shorts                         Php 100

Lost Keycard

A charge of Php 500.00 will be imposed for each lost keycard before issuing another one.


XV. Damages and Missing Items

Guests will be charged for any damages to the property or missing items caused by negligence, misuse, or intentional actions. Yamato Hostel is not liable for damages or losses resulting from natural causes, fire, floods, or other unforeseen events beyond our control.


XVI. Housekeeping

Rooms are cleaned daily. Dormitory rooms are serviced between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Guests are asked to secure their belongings and properly dispose of trash.


XVII. Disclaimers

Yamato Hostel strives for accuracy in all materials but does not guarantee the absence of errors or omissions. Use of facilities and services is at your own risk. The hostel disclaims liability for direct, indirect, or consequential damages.


By signing this form, the guest confirms awareness and acceptance of the following:

  • The building has no elevator. All rooms are accessible only via stairs.
  • The male common toilet and bath is located on the 2nd floor.
  • The female common toilet and bath is located on the 3rd floor.


Yamato Hostel is not liable for any injuries resulting from guest negligence, including but not limited to:

  1. Injuries caused by jumping off bunk beds or improper use of hostel furniture and fixtures.
  2. Slips, trips, or falls within the hostel premises due to failure to follow safety instructions or signage.
  3. Injuries resulting from the misuse of hostel facilities or amenities (e.g., common areas, stairs, bathrooms).
  4. Damage or loss of personal belongings due to guest carelessness or improper use of storage facilities.
  5. Injuries caused by engaging in prohibited or reckless activities within hostel premises.
  6. Injuries or discomfort due to the absence of an elevator in the building. All rooms are accessible only via stairs. Guests with mobility issues or requiring wheelchair access may find the property unsuitable.
  7. Injuries or medical complications resulting from undisclosed health conditions. Guests staying in shared dormitory rooms who are pregnant, have recently undergone surgery, have heart conditions, or other health issues that may impair mobility or the ability to safely use a bunk bed are highly encouraged to inform hostel staff prior to check-in. Yamato Hostel will make reasonable efforts to assign a lower bunk where available. However, failure to disclose such conditions releases Yamato Hostel from any responsibility or liability in the event of injury or discomfort caused by being assigned to an upper bunk.


Please note that all top bunks are equipped with ladders and side rails to ensure guest safety, and we do not promote any unsafe behavior. Yamato Hostel also provides signage and safety instructions throughout the premises to help ensure a safe stay. Additionally, Yamato Hostel will not cover any medical bills, medication, or treatment costs for injuries sustained due to guest negligence or failure to follow safety protocols.


XVIII. Non-Compliance

Non-compliance with these terms may result in reservation cancellation, legal action, or reporting to law enforcement.


By staying at Yamato Hostel, you acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions.

Yamato Hostel reserves the right to amend these terms without prior notice. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.


Checkout Guidelines


1. Gather used towels on top of bed.

2. Dispose of trash in the provided bins.

3. Clean any used dinnerware.

4. Turn off all appliances and lights.

5. Ensure windows and doors are locked.

6. Return room keys to the reception.

7. Notify the front desk when ready to check out for a room inspection.
